ORLANDO, FL AND HOUSTON, TX MARCH 25, 2015

With more than 45 years’ experience providing quality training programs for the crane and lifting industries, Crane Inspection & Certification Bureau (CICB), recognizes that preparatory training for crane operators is essential to employers who require their Spanish-speaking operators meet the OSHA 1926 Subpart CC requirements and has implemented training programs.

CICB, who has been associated with the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO) programs since their inception, believes these certification programs are the most comprehensive in the crane and lifting industry. The NCCCO has recently made available its Mobile Crane Operator written certification exams in Spanish. The exams, which are a direct translation of the English exams, have been developed by a panel of bilingual crane experts, including one of CICB’s bilingual crane experts.

“NCCCO is committed to maintaining the same standard for all its candidates, whether they are English-speaking or Spanish-speaking,” noted NCCCO Director of Operations and Program Development, Joel Oliva. “We are confident that the new exams provide a level playing field for candidates for whom English is not their first language.” The integrity of these exams have been validated by numerous pilot tests over the past two years, most of which were held at CICB.

As a supporter of NCCCO certifications, CICB offers NCCCO Preparatory Training Programs in both English and Spanish, along with scheduled Written and Practical Exams. The lengthy written exams will test the candidate’s knowledge on site set up, operations, technical knowledge, manufacturer’s load charts, load handling, rigging and signaling.
