With widespread gains in employment in the construction and manufacturing sectors from a year ago, Crane Inspection & Certification Bureau (CICB), a world leader in providing training, certifications and safety services for the crane and material handling industries, is prepared to train the newly hired workforce.
HOUSTON, TX AND ORLANDO, FL APRIL 25, 2014
There’s an old adage that says, “If you’re always ready, then you don’t have to get ready”, and representatives at Crane Inspection & Certification Bureau say the company is prepared for what industry experts predict to be an increased demand to train newly hired crane and material handling workers in 2014.
The widespread gains in employment from a year ago are very encouraging, and the construction and manufacturing sectors are prepared to add even more workers. Many organizations are linking learning to performance and the bottom-line, understanding that a highly skilled, knowledgeable workforce is critical to achieving growth and success.
“Understanding the market trends and forecasts will be instrumental in positioning our company for continued growth and success,” said Karla Lascell, Operations Manager of CICB. A skilled workforce tomorrow is wholly dependent on training today. In fact, Vice President Joe Biden recently argued that the American’s skilled workforce is one of our greatest economic assets and too many companies are having trouble finding workers with the exact skills they need.
In preparation, CICB has recently expanded its Houston Training Center, offering additional modern classroom space and designated practical areas to provide the trainee with applied and visual learning on cranes and rigging. Additionally, a second Bi-Lingual Instructor/Inspector has recently joined CICB’s team.
CICB’s Houston and Orlando Training Centers offer monthly NCCCO Crane Operator Certification preparatory training along with exams on lattice boom, fixed and swing cab hydraulic, articulating boom, and overhead cranes. Rigger training and crane inspector training is offered monthly, not only at the training centers, but also at over 30 locations across the United States.
Many experts agree that the primary benefits of training your workforce is to reduce injuries; achieve regulatory compliance; increase your workers skills/productivity; increase equipment reliability; and to reduce equipment maintenance costs.
