HOUSTON (PRWEB) OCTOBER 02, 2019

LAGCOE is a nonprofit energy industry organization focused on educational programs and a technical exposition & conference, which will take place in New Orleans, LA on October 9-11. Crane Inspection & Certification Bureau’s (CICB) Subject Matter Experts and Safety Advisors will be providing a technical session on OSHA’s new rule for Crane Operator Evaluations.

The technical session will be led by Larry Kime, who has 35 years of experience in the industry training, inspecting and lift planning. As CICB’s Senior Instructor/Inspector and Technical Advisor, Larry has co-authored multiple training manuals, developed hands-on and classroom training for crane and rigging safety programs, is a maritime surveyor under 29 CFR Part 1919, and provides expert witness testimony and litigation support for accidents involving cranes/material handling equipment. Larry is NCCCO Certified as an operator, rigger, signal person, inspector, lift director and accredited practical examiner; Train-the-Trainer Certified by the Bob Pike Group; and nominated as Top Trainer of the Year.

“Although certification provides an independent assessment of general baseline knowledge and skills, the employer evaluation is necessary to verify operator competence, specifically focusing on the safe operation of equipment and performance of tasks unique to the employer’s worksite,” said Larry Kime.

During LAGCOE’s oil and gas industry exposition, CICB’s team of Safety Advisors will be available at Booth 1434 to help attendees select the proper tools to overcome the Five Biggest Challenges to the Lifting Industry:

  • Impact of Accidents and Near Misses
  • OSHA Regulations, Investigation, Fines and Cost of Compliance or Non-Compliance
  • Personnel Qualifications
  • Required OSHA Documentation
  • Equipment Inspections, Selections and Applications
