In response to the shortage of skilled labor and the demand for highly trained and certified crane operators and riggers, Houston-based Crane Inspection & Certification Bureau announces the opening of a Career School in Houston to provide training to individuals for employment in the crane and lifting industry. The School is approved and regulated by the Texas Workforce Commission.

HOUSTON, TX JULY 30, 2015

Uniquely position in the economic hub of Houston, Crane Inspection & Certification Bureau (CICB) has established the first and only approved career school to train individuals as crane operators and riggers in the Houston area. The school, which is approved and regulated by Texas Workforce Commission Career Schools & Colleges, is an ambitious initiative, designed to address the demand from the construction, oil & gas, chemical, aerospace and manufacturing industries for professionally trained workers.

CICB, one of Houston’s oldest training companies, has been upgrading the existing skills and education of crane and rigging personnel from various industries throughout Texas, the United States and much of the world with distinction for decades. Now, with Texas’ approval as a school in Houston, CICB will build extensively on this legacy through expanded educational programs to train individuals entering the field of crane and rigging operations.

“We are excited to bring this new opportunity to the Houston market for individuals wanting to enter the lifting industry and for individuals needing certification as crane operators or riggers” said Craig Epperson, CEO of Crane Inspection & Certification Bureau. “This expansion of our business continues our goal of being the national leader in crane and rigging education. The need is great, and we believe there is no better place to have this approved school than in Houston serving the demand in South Texas and the surrounding regions.”

CICB’s five Houston-based subject matter experts coupled with its Orlando, Florida team of seven offers more than a quarter century of crane and lifting expertise. CICB’s instructors are among the best in the industry and have accreditation credentials from the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO), adult learning principles training from the Bob Pike Institute, and many are the recipients of top trainer awards. The instructors provide students the education and skill set they will need to make an immediate contribution to the workforce through the development of their applied crane operator and rigger practical skills along with the knowledge and a deep understanding of safety procedures, lift management, and regulations. In addition, CICB will prepare the students to pass their NCCCO crane operator or rigger exams with confidence.
