Crane Inspection & Certification Bureau Joins American Clean Power Wind Workforce Standards Committee
Reaffirming its commitment to the advance of renewable energy globally, Crane Inspection & Certification Bureau has taken its seat as a member of American Clean Power’s Wind Workforce Standards Committee
Crane Inspection & Certification Bureau (CICB) has taken another step in demonstrating its commitment to the safe operations of cranes and lifting equipment in the wind industry by agreeing to join American Clean Power’s (ACP) Wind Workforce Standards Committee (WWSC).
Headquartered in Washington D.C., ACP “is the voice of companies from across the clean power sector that are powering America’s future and providing cost-effective solutions to the climate crisis while creating jobs, spurring massive investment in the U.S. economy, and driving high-tech innovation across the nation.”
CICB’s mission to bring uniquely tailored training, consultations, and evaluations to the heavy lifting industry nationally and internationally, meant that a place at the ACP table was a natural fit.
The Wind Workforce Standards Committee “prepares consensus standards documents to facilitate uniform workforce competencies. The ACP WWSC is a leader in the development and industry acceptance of US Wind Energy consensus standards related to workforce training and competencies.”
Craig Epperson, President and CEO of CICB, said, “At CICB we strive to provide best-in-class programs to continually improve safe practices and eliminate incidents and injuries in the lifting industry. With the projected boom in wind installations across the globe, it became incumbent upon CICB to offer its 52 years of expertise to the wind industry to significantly reduce the hazards associated with the enormous lifts being performed in the construction, maintenance and decommissioning of onshore and offshore wind turbines.”
Offering 16 programs customized to the wind energy industry, CICB has positioned their Wind Service Advanced Rigging with Lift Planning as the flagship program for ACP’s members and non-members alike.
